It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our dear David.  David was a director of huddle & bliss and the beloved husband of Sherry Prosser our MD.  David passed away peacefully at the end of October 2009 following a long battle with oesophageal cancer.  David is missed terribly by his wife, four children, family, friends and all members of the h&b team.  His outstanding contribution to the success of the business will never be forgotten. 

He will forever remain in our hearts.

All the team were really pleased to hear of the birth of another huddle & bliss celebrity baby....sorry but we are bound by secrecy and can't say who it is!  Suffice to say the bouncing baby boy arrived safely and is doing well.  He will be leaving hospital dressed top to toe in h&b!

During the build up to the NEC Baby Show, huddle & bliss were really thrilled to be featured in an article in the Independent Newspaper parenting section written by dad-to-be James Palmer. A number of huddle & bliss products were mentioned.

The h&b team were really pleased to see our Blissful Baby Bottom Balm in the current edition of I'm Pregnant Magazine.  A stunning blend of pure botanical ingredients it combines the healing, soothing and protecting properties of calendula, lavender and ylang ylang pure essential oils.

I read this article with interest. I launched huddle & bliss in February 2008. We are an online luxury mother and baby brand. Practically all of our products are manufactured here in the UK. I am immensely passionate about supporting what remains of the UK manufacturing industry. My research reflected the fact that there were many parents out there that want to know where the goods come from, have issues about quality and the Far East and also wanted to support UK manufacturers. In addition as a new business I knew it would enable me to have much shorter runs on products and not hold too much stock, to develop new designs more quickly and take delivery of my orders within a couple of weeks rather than several months. Not to mention the exchange range issues that you do not have to consider. Yes the unit prices are higher, but I have a much tighter hand on quality control, I visit the factory very regularly and I know where and by whom my products are made… and at the end of it all I am proud to support any UK business wherever I can. We have recently launched a range of natural skin products for mother and baby which are again all made here in the UK.

I am heartened to hear that other business such as Hippy Chick are considering moving their productions to this country and hope that many more follow suit. I truly believe that there are definite benefits to be had by all.

Natasha Kaplinsky and husband Justin Bower have today announced the name of their little boy who was born in September.  They have chosen the name 'Arlo' for its originality.  We love the name here at huddle & bliss!  We can't wait to see more pictures of the little man soon.

All the team at huddle & bliss wanted to extend their congratulations to Natasha and Justin on the birth of their son today, Thursday 25th September 2008!  Natasha gave birth at 0830 this morning and Justin says that mother and son are doing well.  Natasha uses a range of huddle and bliss products, including our stunning 48 hour mama & baby bag, our popular birthing shirt, and our stylish leather change bag.

This years NEC baby show was fantastic, we always look forward to the shows, they are a lot of hard work but it’s all worth it when we get to meet our customers and see how they feel about our products and new collections.

Being internet based, as we currently are, we do not often get to see our customers face to face, but at the baby shows we get to talk to real people, see their reactions to our products and get lots of feedback. We get a great buzz from hearing all your comments about our products and our website.

We had an incredible response to our new birthing T-shirt, which is stylish but so practical. Our baby swaddling blankets and traditional baby layette boxes were once again amongst our best sellers. But it was your response to our 48 Hour Mama & Baby Bag which pleased us the most. A lot of time and hard work has gone into perfecting it and we are delighted that you loved it so much that we sold our entire show stock!

So thank you all for visiting us, we hope you had a great time, as we did. And we look forwarding to seeing you again soon. We only have to wait until October for the Earls Court show and November for the Manchester show and we can do it all again!

Our pretty Maiden nightdress is featured in this weeks Fashion hot list (The April 28th issue).

The Maiden nightdress is a firm favourite of ours and we have all been dying for summer to hit and the holiday season to begin so we can take full advantage of this wonderfully flexible dress, cool for those hot summer nights, or alternatively as a pretty sundress, perfect for that promenade stroll.

We had a great time, it was hard work but we enjoyed every minute.

This was our first show and with our website launching in the same week we were very fired up. Set up for the stand was the night before (Thursday), and as we all stood there that night at 10 o’clock in awe. I can only describe the mood as electric. The stand looked beautiful, better than any of us had hoped, but first night nerves set in and none of us slept. I lay there all night, mostly packing and re-packing boxes, and asking what if questions what if no one comes? What if no one likes it?

I kissed me little girl good bye at 5 0’clock the next morning as she slept in bed and whispered “wish mummy luck!”

The whole event was fantastic, the huddle & bliss brand was born and from Friday at about 10 until Sunday when the show closed we did not stop.

The huddle & bliss classic white baby collection and our knitted pram coats were the hit of the weekend. Our girls back at head office were running around like headless chickens not only organising the additional stock that we needed but also trying to keep up with all the change-bag and 48 hour hospital bag orders we had taken at the show and from the site.

It was so lovely to meet all of you, and we really hope you enjoyed the time you spent with us at the stand. We are all mums and we tried to be as helpful and informative as possible in relation to all the questions we were asked.

We look forward with great excitement to the next Baby show at the NEC in Birmingham 16^th-18^th May. We have a bigger stand and so will be able to showcase a much wider selection of our fantastic ranges.

Special thanks goes to Patsy whose dedication and enthusiasm was unwavering throughout the whole show. If you came to see us you’ll remember her as the one who cooed over your baby!
